So Christmas and the New Year are upon us… who would have thought so soon? I’m busy packing for my family and I to leave New York for Sydney within the next day or two. You should see the looks I get when I mention my 22 month-old and 3 1/2 year old are making the journey with us… unbelievable! People cannot believe one travels with babes...
We are shooting the Autumn Sara catalogue in early January in Sydney. I look forward to seeing my wonderful friends who make up the crew. So much to catch up on… Hence the timing of our trip.
From my family to yours, I wish you and yours all the best for the holidays, Christmas and the New Year. It really is a magical time of year filled with love, joy and good times. Bring on the good memories that we will relish in years to come.
Take care and all my best,
Ljubenka

Who can believe it’s the end of October? Not me that’s for sure! Doesn't it appear that time flashes by faster and faster… or is it simply me?
That said, fall (autumn) is upon us in the northern hemisphere and our layers are slowly building up and up. Everyone I know here in the big apple is sad that our summer started and ended at record speed. It’s all about your summer here.
Great news for the southern hemisphere, bring on the heat, sun and fun of summer! Hence, the Sara High Summer catalogue. Just when you thought your summer options had come to a standstill, there is more!
My family and I are looking forward to spending Christmas and the New Year in Australia (in varied states of down under) as we get around to see both my husband’s and my families. These last few years we have ended up with one week or so to chill and spend time together in the sun on ‘holiday’. Not much time when you come to think of it… we need to change that I think!
Anyway, it’s the end of October and that spells out HALLOWEEN. Mila is dressing up as a princess (of course), and Levi will be a racing car driver. He is obsessed with cars! I can’t tell you how many he has of varying colours and sizes… cars, cars and more cars!
So on Sunday we attend the annual Halloween Parade in our wonderful neighbourhood. It really is so much fun to see the kids dress-up. Some adventurous adults take the plunge also… not my husband and I! We try and keep our cool on during the daytime anyway!
Have a fabulous start to the summer.
Be well.

Here I sit in my dining room after a long day at work and I'm looking around me at the wall where our leak left a mark, thinking back to Saturday night when Hurricane Irene brushed and rushed past our apartment. What a weird night it was.
The rain was thick and heavy and the wind carried a sense of the unknown... How bad were we going to be hit by Mother Nature? The million dollar question! We were one of the lucky ones. She came and went in about 12 hours or so and when we stepped outside of our home, we found ourselves thinking, "this is it?" Thank goodness it was. Life as we know it and back to normal.
I have since spoken to and heard varied stories of Irene's impact. From floods to power outages to fallen trees on property and cars to the tragic deaths... Irene touched the east coast of America very differently. We are most grateful it wasn’t worse in neighbourhood of New York City.
So, now to my favourite pieces from the Sara Spring collection. There are some cute outfits that are fun and flirty... Chambray, prints, spots and colour are options for the new season.
Below are my personal must-haves:
Enjoy the warmer weather approaching.
Be well.

We are in the middle of our Sara Spring & Summer catalogue shoot in Sydney. This afternoon the crew & I fly to Noosa (Queensland) for four days. We hope the beautiful sunny weather lasts so we can get some beautiful shots of the new season’s collection.
Would you like a sneak preview of what’s to come? OK… you’ve twisted my arm. For Sara Spring & Summer, prints are big for the season. Eveningwear has beading and a great ruffle dress I simply love.
Stripes never left us and there’s a hint of the nautical. As far as bold colours go… purple, coral and green tones do the job this season. There’s nothing like a pop of colour to add some difference to your summer wardrobe.
Jeans are always a good basic and option in the warmer months. They go anywhere, anytime.
Some good news for those of you who simply can’t get enough of Sara bras… To add to the everyday essentials, there are some new and sexy styles coming your way.
Best I get back to the crew now. We have so much to shoot.
Have a wonderful week.
Be well.

This is the amazing Sara crew on Monday afternoon once we wrapped-up our eight day spring & summer shoot in Noosa, Queensland. What a Mötley Crüe indeed! Thank you dear friends... I look forward to seeing you at the end of September.

Summer has finally arrived (not much of a spring to write about here)… Everyone in New York is thrilled about that and it’s all everyone seems to talk about. We are finally showing some skin and getting our dose of Vitamin D.
It certainly doesn’t take our little family of four as long to get out the door like it does in the colder months (think many many layers with a one and three year old)… Seriously in need of a chill-pill at times when attempting to get out the door in a timely fashion. Life is a little less complicated these days.
In a few weeks time, I’ll be returning to Australia to shoot the spring and summer Sara catalogues. I’m very excited to shoot the new seasons collection with the magical team that is the Sara crew.
We have a long weekend here this weekend... Memorial Day is on Monday. It unofficially kicks off summer in the U.S. A BBQ or two is on the cards I think. We have to make the most of this fabulous weather.
Enjoy your weekend.

So another month passes us by… It’s almost the end of April and I cannot believe it. Here in NY, we’re not much closer to spring than we were last month unfortunately. We have small hints and signs emerging (flowers & trees are starting to bud and our courtyard is starting to look alive again). One certainly appreciates fabulous weather, when you get it!
Last month we shot the Sara Winter catalogue as you know. I have selected some new personal favourite pieces (forgive me if I repeat myself from previous catalogues). They include:
Perhaps in my next blog, I’ll have some springtime news to share with you.
To those of you who celebrate it… Happy Easter! We plan on a little Easter egg hunt in our courtyard with the kids… Let’s hope it’s not snowing!
Be well.

Happy Autumn... almost!
As I get ready to fly out to Sydney this week for the next shoot, the Sara Autumn catalogue hits the stands. There are many cool and adorable pieces to consider this season.
As usual, I have some key personal favourites from the autumn collection. They include:
Have fun shopping and preparing for the cooler months ahead. Always exciting...
In my next blog, I'll mention what you can expect after spring/summer fashion week here in New York.
Be well.

I look out one of our windows and all I see is white… snow for days and days! This winter in New York and the Northeast of America has set new records when it comes to snowfall.
It really is something to get around in, trying to look fabulous for jobs and castings alike. You look gorgeous from head to under the knee then you see a pair of Sorel boots or rain boots of varying colours and brands keeping feet warm and dry. This is New York when it snows and when the white cover melts… Yuk! It is messy, wet and grey.
I went to a casting today and 90% of the girls had the above shoes/boots on. I smiled. Only in New York would this fly with such a practical edge.
When it’s freezing, wet and drab like this, a good red lipstick goes a long way for me personally. One of my favourites is by Chanel - Rouge Allure in Audace. It’s a good investment if you love to wear red lipstick.
At the end of the month, I’ll be returning to Australia for the next Sara shoot. We’ll be getting ready for Winter 2011. Are you ready for winter or simply enjoying your summer?
I look forward to summer. I look forward to spring too with long walks outside with my babies and husband. Life is good when you can be outside in the elements, running wild and breathing in the life of your surrounds.
Have a great month.
Be well.

Earlier this month the crew and I shot the Holiday Sara catalogue in Sydney, which you will see rather soon I believe. Stayed tuned.
Since my post last month, Levi & I made a quick trip to Australia together. It was the longest time I've spent with Levi alone since he was born. It was a lovely time to further bond with my son that I cannot stop kissing.
It was the first Australian trip I left my darling Mila at home since she was born. She was OK for the first 6/7 days then my darling girl wanted her mama. Mila is used to me coming and going for work and prior to this trip, Mila and I had not been separated this long. With pre-school starting next year, it is something our Australian family and I, are going to have to get used to unfortunately. It was a hard one for me that's for sure... however, this is what I and many many working mother's in the world must do each and every day.
Work is keeping me busy every week with regular castings all over Manhattan.
The fall here in New York is beautiful. I think I’ve mentioned before that Sept/Oct are two of my favourite months here. With the changing of the seasons, the colours of our neighbourhood and landscape change also. We’ve been fortunate to have had rather mild weather up until this week… unusual for this time of year.
Tomorrow is Halloween. It’s an American tradition and celebration that our children part-take in. Mila and Levi are dressing up and there are a couple of child-friendly parties on the agenda for the day.
Hope your week is full of colour and fun.
Be well.
