I am honored and proud to be the first full-figured ambassador of any brand in Australia and it fortunately happens to be SARA... it doesn't get better than that! Happenings

Hello everyone!

Since my last post the weather here in New York has dropped considerably... scarves and coats are a must (all in a matter of two weeks). It is autumn or fall as the Americans like to call it and it's a beautiful time of year. September and October are two of my favourite months in the Big Apple and the autumn foliage is hard to beat. You certainly know and feel the four seasons in New York. I love that.

Boots are everywhere in every heel height, shape and colour. Even though I have many pairs, I still feel the guilty pleasure of buying a new boot for the season. Comfort is everything too, since walking around the streets of Manhattan is an everyday part of my life and a necessity that I really enjoy. There is no place like it.

Today is Halloween and it's a big deal in the States. My husband, daughter and I are going to a friend's place for the weekend in New Jersey to mark this international holiday that's celebrated on October 31. I'm still trying to decide what to wear to a party where there will be 100 or so guests celebrating this secular holiday. It is Mila's first Halloween and I can't wait to see her expression when she sees all these weird and wonderful costumes. I hope she doesn't cry and freak out!

My mother came to stay with us for two months recently and returned to Australia two weeks ago (sob sob sob). We all miss her very much, including all our New York friends who couldn't wait to pop over for a taste of my mother's famous and very delicious biscuits for afternoon tea/coffee. Every weekend we had friends over, entertaining and loving my mum's time with us. Every day was a precious gift to have mum stay and be an important part of Mila's first year of life. Mum took care of our daughter whilst my husband and I were at work (no one like mum). My husband asked mum to move in with us and she replied with a big smile on her face, "No thank you my darling, Sydney is the best place for me. No place beats Sydney." There's nothing like having a wonderful family around. It certainly is the biggest trade off that my husband and I make by living in New York.

I've been working and traveling around the States a lot and even had my first overnight and two day/night trip away from my daughter this past month. I'm still nursing so it's crucial that I'm not away from Mila for too long. I have become an expert in expressing and I'm enjoying the balance of family/career. It's certainly more work however, I love it when I'm at home busy being mum and then on set as a fashion model and salesperson for a label/designer. One day I am pampering, the next, I am being pampered!

Be well.

Fall in New York just sounds lovely! Wonderful post Ljubenka, thanks for keeping us up to date, I always look forward to reading them. As summer is fast approaching here, what is the look for make up this summer and how do you keep cool & look fresh in the heat? I know it's getting cold in New York but what were the trends this past summer in New York? Oh your Mum's biscuits sounds great, any chance of the recipie (if it's not a secret!) Take Care.

Hi Ljubenka, love the range and the osts. It is so nice to see pretty clothes for women, and promoted by women who proudly wear their personalities and flatter their shape! A quick question...I find it easier to look stlyish in winter when you can layer and wrap clothes elegantly. But I am defeated when it's summer and sticky in the tropics of Queensland. Tank tops just don't flatter me! What would you advise?

Kate,
Summer is a great time to inject vivid colour into your wardrobe. On the fashion radar is white, yellow, pink, cobalt blue and watermelon. There are great tops you can team up with white jeans/pants or pants in general for the warmer months. For example Sara's 'bubble top", "cap sleeve tee", "print tunic", "V neck tunic" and "sequin top" to name a few.
Two pieces, like a skirt/pant and top combination with some cute accessories, sexy shoes and a must have bag always work wonders!

L.H,
You raise some interesting topics for discussion and therefore make my job a little easier... so thank you. I appreciate it.
This spring/summer make-up gets bold. Colours of interest are neon shades of pink, orange and yellow that pop and make a statement (Chanel, Clarins & Guerlain). Candy coloured lips are a winner this summer. There is a new breed of candy coloured glosses that brighten but don't blind... it's all about the texture.
Hues of blue, line and shadow the eye creating a sexy and fun mood for the hot months ahead.
Make a splash with metallic shadows and liners that create a soft and subtle smokey eye this season.
Winged eyeliner is forever chic (think Sophia Loren & Marilyn Monroe) and you can't go wrong with a red hot pout.
On the cheeks expect to find peach and pink tones that bring a dewy and natural hint of blush.
Don't forget to bronze up and get your glow on!
Enjoy the summer!
